How are these services provided?
In order to achieve your financial goals, we need to carefully review your position. Together with you, our client, Optimal Financial Services progresses through a number of important steps, which are also descibed in our Financial Service Guide (FSG) as required by industry guidelines.
Step1: Initial Interview
Lasting for approximately half an hour, this initial interview enables us to clarify your goals and objectives. It saves time if you bring with you your most recent tax return, a list of current assets and liabilities and information on superannuation, life policies and life cover.
If you are comfortable with the ideas put forward, you may wish to proceed to the next step – the written report.
Step 2: Written Report
A written financial plan, based upon your current position, usually takes about two weeks to finalise. An appointment is made (at your first meeting or shortly after) for a time to present the plan and explain the proposed strategy. You will be given full details of all fees and brokerage.
The cost of a written report depends on the complexity of your situation.
Step 3: Implementation of the Financial Plan and Strategy
Once you’ve agreed on the most appropriate course of action, we’ll assist you with the implementation of the financial plan and strategy.
Step 4: Portfolio Review
Our service doesn’t stop with implementation. We’ll monitor the performance of your portfolio and keep you informed of new opportunities, suggesting changes where appropriate.
The majority of our clients prefer two interviews per year to discuss their businesss and financial affairs, the economic climate and any changes to rules or legislation which may affect their investments. In most cases, your investment account balance can also be accessed on the Internet.
Generally the costs of review are included in the ongoing management fee for our premium service clients.
